Priview in Seoul (PIS) 2025

Preview in Seoul (PIS) is Korea’s leading textile and fashion sourcing exhibition, serving as a national platform that brings together manufacturers, brands, material suppliers, and international buyers to foster industrial collaboration and innovation across the textile value chain.

With the support of KOFOTI (Korea Federation of Textile Industries), CARE IDⓒ presented at PIS 2025 the first field demonstration in Korea of a Digital Product Passport (DPP) applied to a fully Made-in-Korea garment. The pilot was conceived as a practical readiness model for the European Union’s forthcoming 2027 DPP requirements, while also strengthening domestic industry competitiveness through locally anchored traceability and structured lifecycle data.

Moving beyond brand-level proof-of-concepts, the pilot used the exhibition environment to test how DPPs are communicated, understood, and experienced in a public, industry-facing setting. A data-verified oversized t-shirt served as the central artefact, integrating item-level DPP access via QR/NFC, supply-chain visualisation, and on-site visitor surveys.

Dajeong curated the exhibition and led the design of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) data structure, narrative flow, and visitor survey, illustrating how DPPs can function beyond regulatory compliance as a branding and storytelling interface grounded in verifiable product data. She also delivered a KOFOTI-supported seminar presentation, reflecting on her professional trajectory from sustainable fashion design to the development of fashion DPP infrastructure and Korea’s evolving DPP readiness.
